Welcome Hayfield Secondary School Class Of 1988!

Lots of events happened in 1988 while we were finishing high school.  Many of us were able to vote for the first time as Ronald Reagan was leaving the Oval Office and George Bush Sr. was elected President.  Kingstowne was just beginning. The top grossing film of the year was Who Framed Roger Rabbit.  Salt N Pepa got their breakthrough hit with "Push It", and the #1 song of the year was “Roll With It” by Steve Winwood.  Jeans with the cuffs rolled up were the fashion statement of the year.

At Hayfield, we had food fights in the cafeteria.  We parked in the Senior Parking Lot.  We participated in “Spirit Week” by wearing tacky ties and sporting our orange and white colors.  When we received our yearbook, The Turning Point, we had all of our friends sign it.  If we didn’t hang out at the Jock Rail, we had to eventually pass through the crowd at the Jock Rail in order to get to class.  We cheered at pep rallies, painted the bleachers, danced at the Friday night dances, and held part-time jobs.

Remember cheering for our football team at the Homecoming Game?  It was a cold night.  Yet, we danced in sweat in a crowded cafeteria at the Homecoming Dance.  Our Senior Prom was held at the Stouffer’s Hotel in Crystal City.  The speaker at our Graduation Ceremony was Frank Meeks from Dominos Pizza and he told us what it was like to own several franchises at the young age of 31.  After graduation, we headed for the beach for “Senior Beach Week”.

Twenty years have gone by and its time to get together again with fellow classmates and our favorite faculty members who helped us through it all.

We are very excited to be working with Capital Reunions on our 20th Reunion, and we need your help to make it a night to remember. First and foremost, please, mark your calendars for July 26, 2008. The BIG night will be held at the Hyatt Reston Town Center from . Second, please spread the word; we don’t want to leave anyone out. Third, check out our class contacts page on this website and update your profile with your current information. If you don’t see your name, please feel free to add it. And finally, keep checking this website for updates.

We are looking forward to a fun-filled weekend of reminiscing and making new memories together. Hope to see you all on July 26th!
